Underwater Torii of Daio-jinja Shrine
Taracho faces the Ariake Sea, which is considered to be a "town where you can see the gravitational force of the moon" because the difference between tide level when it is full is up to 6 meters.
The three torii "Uminaka Torii" built between Oojinja and Okinoshima are power spots of fantastic beauty that appear when the tide rises and sinks into the sea when the tide rises. .
The Daio Shrine, which enshrines the Daio Daimyojin, is said to have the benefit of the sea safety and prayer for good fishing. About 300 years ago, the shrine was built about 300 years ago, when the inhabitants drunk and left behind on Okinoshima, the tide became high and the island began to sink. It appears and puts it on his back, and there is a legend that he built a large fish shrine and an underwater torii in the sea to thank him for his help.
It is cherished as a guardian deity of the sea, and the torii gate is still practiced to build one every 30 years.
