Autumn Grand Festival Karatsu-kunchi

This is the annual autumn festival of Karatsu Shrine, which is held every year from November 2 to 4.
14 Hikiyama cruises the old castle town on the shouts of "Enya Farm, Enya Farm" and "Yosa, Yoisa" played with flutes, bells and drums. Hikiyama has various shapes such as lions, helmets, turtles and sea breams, and is one of the world's largest dry lacquer art crafts made of Japanese paper, lacquer, gold leaf, etc.
On November 2, Hikiyama was called Yoihikiyama, and Hikiyama traveled with lanterns, led by "Red Lion" in Katanamachi. Finally, there are many people in front of Karatsu Shrine, and the fantastic Yohikiyama attracts the audience. The biggest show place is "Otabisho Shinko" on the 3rd. Hikiyama, who left Karatsu Shrine at 9:30 am, heads to the inn on Nishinohama, and at noon, pulling begins at the inn. This inn is a sandy ground, and the pullers pull the Hikiyama to the designated position while the wheels are eating in, pulling and pulling are masterpieces. The 4th is the next day's festival, and it will be pulled to the Hikiyama Exhibition Hall in the evening without the excitement of the festival.
