Autumn Grand Festival Karatsu Kunchi

This is the annual autumn festival of Karatsu Shrine, which is held every year from November 2 to 4.
14 Hikiyama cruises around the old castle town on the shouts of "Enya Farm, Enya Farm" and "Yosa, Yoisa" played by flutes, bells, and drums, and Hikiko (hikiko). Hikiyama has various shapes such as lions, helmets, turtles and sea breams, and is one of the world's largest dry lacquer art and crafts finished with Japanese paper, lacquer, gold leaf, etc.
On November 2, it is called Yohikiyama, and Hikiyama cruises with lanterns, led by "Red Lion" in Katanamachi. Finally, there are many groups in front of Karatsu Shrine, and the fantastic Yohikiyama attracts the audience. The biggest show is "Otabisho Shinko" on the 3rd. Hikiyama, who left Karatsu Shrine at 9:30 am, heads to the inn on the west beach, and at noon, begins to be pulled at the inn. This inn is a sandy place, and the pullers pull the Hikiyama in their place while the wheels are ingested, pulling, and pulling are a highlight. The 4th is the next day's festival, and in the evening, it will be pulled to the Hikiyama Exhibition Hall without the excitement of the festival.
